Horoscope for Oct. 7-13, 2009

Libra The Scales (Sept. 22-Oct. 22):

Early in the week you play the tune of the rebel, the one whose mind belongs to him/herself. By the end of the week you may tilt in the direction of safety and conformity once again. You have non-conforming ideas, but you fear making yourself visible, lest someone target you.

For All Signs: Because of the major planetary changes in the last 18 months, the solstice and equinox points of the zodiac are especially sensitive to activity (0 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn). This week Mercury is crossing the 0 degree Libra point, flanked by two challenging planets. There will be major controversy on the globe and also in our personal lives. The issue is power. Who has the power and how is it being used? One of the expressions these days is "transparency." A revelation of the "slippery slope" in the financial world will likely occur.

Aries: Over the next two weeks, Mars, your ruling planet, is crossing a sensitive eclipse point from July 20. At that time you vowed to no longer struggle over a particular family or relationship issue. Well, it's back, just to test the waters.

Taurus: Your theme of struggle between traditional versus freedom has been ongoing for over a year. This time you swing to the side of safety with the known quantity. Or do you? This is not the last, best time to decide. The issue emerges once again in a few months.

Gemini: The news may be somber concerning a family member and it may concern a matter of health. This person (or you) will have to clean up old habits. You are a key player, whether it is the leading or supporting role. This comes as no surprise to you.

Cancer: During July, when the eclipse season lay heavily upon your shoulders, you made a decision to let go of your investment in a family matter. Events conspire to offer you a second chance on that decision. Go with the one that is best for your overall mental health.

Leo: Your mood is expansive and optimistic this week. It is one of those "good luck" times that occasionally happen to the Lions. You have a grasp of the big picture and could use this energy to promote your projects and gain support.

Virgo: You are bringing closure to a project of long standing. The feeling tone is somber, as in a graduation march. Don't allow old habits or rules from the past to make your decisions for you. Take a vacation or R&R before you begin to tackle the next cycle of your life.

Scorpio: This is a week in which you will tend to be thinking obsessively. It is an opportunity to learn how to better control your mind. Shift your attention to something less dramatic, such as whatever is happening this moment, rather than worrying over what might happen in the future.

Sagittarius: This is a fortunate period for any endeavors that involve friends or organizations to which you belong. Your "network" is expanded. It is possible that the muse will be tapping your shoulder and asking you to write what you think.

Capricorn: You may need to concentrate in order to avoid critics, whether they be internal or external. Instead of blame, use the discipline to tackle a project that requires concentration. Avoid forcing controversial issues to a conclusion.

Aquarius: A challenging aspect blows through your consciousness like a dark cloud crossing the sky. Don't allow old habits or rules from the past to rule your mind. Make every effort to rise above your beliefs to a level that can see beyond your ego and the situation becomes more workable.

Pisces: This could be a time in which you must break a real or a virtual promise. It is better that you remain true to yourself, though others may not understand why it is important. Improvements may develop in the areas of insurance, inheritance, joint financial resources, or assistance programs.
