I'mma Buy You a Drank ...

Yeah, right. But come and hang out with the party people of Creative Loafing anyway.

Wednesday: CL and The Sol Kitchen present Pop Life, Charlotte's most eclectic weekly party. Look at funky art, eat free food (provided by Townsend's Gourmet Cuisine), meet cool people and listen to eclectic music. Time/place: 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. at Prevue (2909 N. Davidson St.)

Thursday: CL columnist Britney Cason is the hostess with the mostest at Creative Lounging. The music is cool, the drink specials (courtesy of Three Olives) are hot, and she gives away free shit, too. Time/place: 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Tilt on Trade (127 W. Trade St.)

  • On Saturday, Oct. 21, hundreds gathered at Camp North End on Statesville Avenue for Charlotte's first black alternative music festival. We captured some of the bands in action on stage, but mostly we surveyed the grounds as fans, families, vendors and more lounged around the sprawling, colorful Camp North End site. It was a great day of music, food, fun, and sweet, autumn sunshine. (Photos by Mark Kemp)
