J & W Graduates First Class 

Charlotte darling, Johnson & Wales University is in preparation to graduate its first class of business, culinary arts and hospitality students. It seems like just yesterday we were watching the building of little JW's first dorm. Wait a minute ... it was only two years ago that Cedar Halls North and South, separated by a courtyard, were built on the corner of West 4th and Cedar streets, enabling the enrollment of more than 2,100 students representing 42 states and 10 countries! Wow, our baby has grown into a fine young magnet to those looking for a career in the hotel and restaurant industries, especially chefs. On any given weekday, a student wearing the all-white uniform can be seen coming from, going to and even attending class (thanks to that giant window in the food lab). Johnson & Wales University's commencement takes place May 20, 2006 at 8:30am in Charlotte Bobcats Arena. Take plenty of pictures, have fun and remember: We'll always have Gateway Village.
