Re: “Music scene original, Mark Stowe, dies at age 48

Having worked at the Camelot Superstore on Independence from 90-94 and Record Exchange on East Blvd from 97-99 Mark was a constant random presence. He would have just read a concert review from a UK gig in the latest NME and expect us to have their CD single the next week.
I was also fortunate enough to have run in his circle during the 90's and to have lived next door to him during the years between retail during 94-97. We had a few "Dual House / Block parties that remain at the pinnacle of my Charlotte social experiences. We shared the decade in which Rock music changed and the music industry has never been the same.
He guided me through internal exploration by silencing my mind in musical immersion. Some times it took Acid, Mushrooms or Pot to help you get there but most of the time it would be Mark setting the mood and getting you to shut the fuck up and REALLY listen to the music.
My tears come since I will not be able to sit at the foot of a rock encyclopedia and be guided to explore the unknown again in such a way. My tears come since my ears can not be at the disposal to his putting the needle in the groove. My tears come in a sense of loss for such a peaceful yet tormented soul. His 4AD, Creation and Factory obsessions were the only that exceeded my own.

luv 2 ya Mark, thru the waves of sound & colour
