Early on, Pennsylvania-based novelist J.R. Wagner made good use of his inner sci-fi nerd. Wagner penned an unpublished sequel to Return of the Jedi at 10 years old. By 12, he was busy filming an amateur version of The Lord of the Rings, that is, until production halted after fire spread from his handmade torches to the set — in his parents' basement. (Oops!) But Wagner has come far since his childhood obsession with Star Wars/LOTR. Exiled, his debut novel in what’s to be a series called Never Chronicles, was released earlier this month. As part of a national book tour, Wagner visits Park Road Books to sign and discuss the young adult fantasy read. In Exiled, a novice sorcerer must overcome his banishment to the land of The Never and fulfill a prophecy to save his kind.
