In response to the turbulent nature of this year’s wedding season, the Tryon Park team unveils a socially distant and safe way to help local couples realize their 2020 nuptial dreams. Under its covered yet open-air porte-cochere, the Tryon Park Hotel will host a series of the shortest marriages of the year on the shortest day of the year, the Winter Solstice on December 21st.
Couples can sign up for one of four elopement packages that range from a drive-through ceremony to a VIP stay in the Presidential Suite.
From sunrise to sunset, the hotel will conduct 30-minute wedding ceremonies, officiated by the hotel’s on-site ordained ministers, General Manager Rob Hannigan and Assistant General Manager Brittany Busby, from the socially distanced comfort of the couples’ car. There are four “Little Chapel on Church Street” packages available, starting at $250 for drive-through “I Do”s, a small wedding cake from Celestial Cakes, and a bottle of sparkling cider (sans booze since the ceremony is ‘on the go’!). The other packages are as follows:
→ $500 for drive-through “I Do”s, champagne toast over dinner for two at Angeline’s, and ending with small wedding cake
→ $750 includes all of the above plus a bottle of champagne with dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel
→ $2,000 ups the ante even more with the above plus dinner for six and an overnight stay in the hotel’s Presidential Suite and next-morning breakfast in bed for the couple
→ Other upgrades and enhancements, such as bouquet, hair and makeup, a 20-minute photography session, and full reception for up to 20 people, are also available by request and for an additional fee
Couples interested in booking one of these offers must book ahead of time by emailing email@example.com to connect with one of the hotel’s coordinators to finalize the specifics on their special day. The booking window will run from October 23 to November 23.
