Last week on The CLog ...

Baltimore teacher gets jumped: "Have we gotten to the point where a teacher cannot ask a student who is disruptive to sit down without fear of retribution? This teacher had just started teaching in December. What is the likelihood of her continuing when getting jumped in a classroom is justified by the school principal? Is there any wonder that our schools are in such horrendous shape?"

Hey, Bob Johnson! "Why should the rest of the city bail you out when it turns out that you made a mistake in bringing a new NBA team here? If you screwed up by thinking Charlotte would go wild for yet another NBA team (yawn), well, isn't that part of the free market system rich guys like you praise whenever it works for you? Trouble is, when the holy free market slaps down moneybags like Johnson, their rugged all-American individualism suddenly disappears in their rush to beg others for rescue."

The real anti-torture president: "Imagine, a candidate for president who, a year or so ago, no one would have considered electable. Now the person is the front-runner, with a groundswell of grassroots support, threatening the sense of inevitability of the establishment candidates. No, I'm not talking about the American presidential race, but the race for president of the largest association of psychologists in the world, the American Psychological Association."
