There's nothing like a good bowl of hot, seasoned gumbo to fill your tummy when it's cold outside. Seeing as the average temperature right now is about 100 degrees, I suggest checking out Carolina Gator Gumbo's latest CD instead. Leona Had a Party! is a compilation of traditional Cajun and Creole songs from southwest Louisiana. "We brought in a few tracks that aren't in the traditional fare, but still seasoned with Cajun and Creole spices," says Jean Prewitt, who plays the Cajun button accordion and is the band's lead vocalist. "Cajun and Creole music is very upbeat and high energy. We're happy because we really feel like we've captured that energy [on this CD]."
