Comic artist Al Capp’s Lil’ Abner strips were a syndicated staple of American newspapers from the early 1930s through the late 1970s, yet for today’s younger generation they are somewhat of a mystery. That’s why musicals like this one exist. Taking aspects of those satirical strips that spoofed the South, this Central Piedmont Community College Summer Theatre show presents the material in a fun format. (Anita Overcash)
