As they must, hands will get bloody in Carolina Shakespeare’s Macbeth. The production is a follow-up to June’s comedic The Taming of the Shrew, which was twisted and reworked to fit an Old West-style setting. In the lead roles, Christian Casper stars as Macbeth and Gretchen McGinty as Lady Macbeth, the former’s strategic culprit in matrimony and murder. Together, the pair will stop at nothing to ensure a seat on the royal throne of Scotland. But as is the case in this dense drama, revenge comes threefold, with supernatural beings and paranoia plummeting the plans.
