'Multicultural extravaganza' hits Charlotte

Serve your senses at the Art, Beats + Lyrics urban art exhibition April 25 at CenterStage@NoDa. The "multicultural extravaganza" will combine various forms of art: graffiti, photography, paintings, break dancing ... and you can't forget good ol' whiskey, since Jack Daniel's is sponsoring the event.

Founder and co-producer Jabari Graham says the event will bring together lovers of visual art, hip-hop, dance and urban culture. He hopes to expose and get people excited about art, and says the event is the perfect experience to do that.

God City, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Common Ground Collective and Taylor McFerrin (son of Bobby McFerrin) will dish live performances, while Rasta Roots and Princess Cut hold down the turntables. Artists represented will include Dosa Kim, Adrian Franks and event co-creator Dubelyoo.

Free tickets are available at www.jackdaniels.com/ABL. First come, first serve. The event runs from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
