Music: Anthony David brings a combo of soul and blues

Anthony David has done a little bit of everything. But the soul/blues singer didn't pick up a guitar until after his 21st birthday. That was after he'd spent time in the Army's 82nd Airborne during Desert Storm. Back state side, he settled in Atlanta becoming a musical muse for India Arie and even writing one of the songs on her double platinum, seven Grammy nominated album Acoustic Soul and touring with her. After venturing out on his own for two independent albums, he's signed to Arie's new label SoulBird and has released his newest album Acey Duecy which he says represents his two different sides as an artist. You can catch his unique combination of soul and blues at The Evening Muse. $15 in advance. 8 p.m. The Evening Muse, 3227 North Davidson St. 704-376-3737.
