MUSIC: Lingering Souls

MONDAY, AUG. 18

The Ohio-based alternative band Blessid Union of Souls debuted in the music scene with the 1995 album Home. Hits like "Let Me Be The One," "I Believe," and "All Along" streamed across the radio stations, and listeners tied up the phone lines requesting those heart-wrenching, catchy vibes. Following their first album was 1997's self-titled album Blessid Union of Souls, 1999's Walking Off The Buzz, and after a long break there was a greatest hits album and 2005's Perception. Blessid Union of Souls is bouncing back slowly, but surely, with plans to release their sixth studio album, Close to the Edge on Sept. 16. They'll play The Visulite Theatre on Aug. 18. $15. Doors open at 7 p.m. Show starts at 9:15 p.m. The Visulite Theatre, 1615 Elizabeth Ave. 704-358-9200. www.visulite.com.
