MUSIC: Ludo

Tuesday, Feb. 24

The energetic pop-rock group Ludo (and yeah, in case you're wondering the band name was inspired by the character in Jim Henson's film Labyrinth) is set to storm the Q.C. for a headlining performance at Visulite Theatre. It's been nearly a year since the band's first album You're Awful I Love You was released on Island Records (on Feb. 26, 2008). The album, featuring zesty pop melodies like "Love Me Dead," "Drunken Lament," and "Lake Pontchartrain," is well-crafted and fun to hear, even on a bad day. Opening acts include Sing It Loud, This Providence and The Morning Light. 16 and up; all ages with parent. $12-$14. 8 p.m. Visulite Theatre, 1615 Elizabeth Ave. 704-358-9200. www.visulite.com.
