MUSIC: Sam Quinn and Japan Ten, and Jimmy Brown

Thursday, March 5

It's always difficult to weed through the up-and-coming artists worth checking out and those music-making duds you never want to hear again after just one listen. Luckily, indie/folk rocks acts like Sam Quinn and Japan Ten (featuring Sam Quinn and Josh Oliver of the everybodyfields, Megan Gregory of Meridian Fame, and Brandon Story of Catbird Seat, CBS & The Clique and Ed Snodderly) and Jimmy Brown (of The Belfast Boys and formerly of Airspace) fall into the first category. Both are artists to keep on your music radar. You can see them perform live when they pay a visit to Visulite Theatre on March 5. Also, be sure to check out the Music section at for a feature on Jimmy Brown. $8-$10. 8 p.m. Visulite Theatre, 1615 Elizabeth Ave. 704-358-9200. www.visulite.com.
