MUSIC: The Wailers

Led by Aston "Familyman" Barrett, The Wailers has continued performing around the world since the death of legendary frontman Bob Marley. Performing songs from those years as well as new material, the band continues to spread the music to adoring fans and hopes to release an album of new material next year, while focusing energy on its "I Went Hungry" campaign. $20.   • On Saturday, Oct. 21, hundreds gathered at Camp North End on Statesville Avenue for Charlotte's first black alternative music festival. We captured some of the bands in action on stage, but mostly we surveyed the grounds as fans, families, vendors and more lounged around the sprawling, colorful Camp North End site.
