Expect some ferocious flow at the Blumenthal facilities this week, during the five-day-long National Poetry Slam 2012. The event features more than 360 poets from across the globe, who will perform in a series of competitions that lead up to a grand slam finale. The Q.C.'s own literary crews, SlamCharlotte and Respect Da Mic, will be representing at the event. Prepare for some uncensored creativity; It should go without saying that you'll be hearing adult language and content. Preliminary bouts take place at multiple locations (Tues., Aug. 7-Thurs., Aug. 9); ditto for semi-finals and group piece finals (Fri., Aug. 10). Knight Theater hosts the final event (Sat., Aug. 11).
