I’m not sure if organizers planned it this way or not, but when I find myself having to choose between festivals like the North Carolina Brewers and Music Festival and the Beer, Bourbon and BBQ Festival, I get annoyed. Is there a way to do both? Probably not. I tend to alternate between the two every year. Both offer the usual boozy, festive atmosphere. North Carolina Brewers and Music Festival is staged on a big farm and offers a ton of craft brewers. It’s also more music-oriented, with a hearty roster of bands and musicians (Greensky Bluegrass, Big Daddy Love, Sol Driven Train, Jesse Dee, Spirit Family Reunion, Jon Stickley Trio, The Reckoning, Hit or Miss) to keep the crowd entertained — that is, if they don’t mosey on back to their tents after hitting up the many beer tents. There’s a camping option for those who choose to stay the night. Oh, and morning yoga, too. (Anita Overcash)
