Nuggets Bob and Weave

Monday, Jan. 14

With a record of 11-19, the Charlotte Bobcats keep plugging along. Still, they are fourth in the Southeast behind Orlando, Atlanta and Washington. And, yeah, so they blew a 12-point lead to lose to the Chicago Bulls to start the new year. It's still a new year, a new chance to show that talent we've all seen glimpses of in games less important than this. So, two obstacles stand in their way to victory ... mainly Allen Iverson and Carmelo Anthony, leaders of the Denver Nuggets. It's not an impossible feat. Keep it crackin', Bobcats. 7 p.m. $10-$85. Charlotte Bobcats Arena, 333 E. Trade St. 704-522-6500.

  • On Saturday, Oct. 21, hundreds gathered at Camp North End on Statesville Avenue for Charlotte's first black alternative music festival. We captured some of the bands in action on stage, but mostly we surveyed the grounds as fans, families, vendors and more lounged around the sprawling, colorful Camp North End site. It was a great day of music, food, fun, and sweet, autumn sunshine. (Photos by Mark Kemp)
