When: Sat., March 10, 1:30 p.m. 2012
Phone: 704-416-5400
Price: FREE
Starting as a penny daily in 1851, the New York Times committed to restrained, in-depth, objective reporting, earning itself an educated, international readership, and a reputation as America’s premier newspaper. From the reporters' desks, Page One looks at traditional journalism's survival in the age of the Internet, with new forms of communication supplanting old print networks. It examines how the Times dealt with Wikileaks, and follows writer, David Carr, who covered the collapse of the Tribune. Tommy Tomlinson, (Charlotte Observer) and John Grooms, (Creative Loafing), will lead a discussion of the film and the current state of our news.
