Pop Life pops to a new spot!

Pop Life, Charlotte's most eclectic nightlife event (brought to you by Creative Loafing and The Sol Kitchen) has been missing from the scene for a few weeks. But come Sept. 17, the party pops back to life -- and to a brand-new venue: the recently opened (and very sexy/cool) Apostrophe Lounge (1440 S. Tryon St., across from Amos' Southend).

Be sure to be in the house on opening night to check out art, the city's funkiest gathering of folks and the BEST music played by the BEST DJs in the Queen City. The fun starts Sept. 17, from 6 p.m.-until. And, as always, it's free! Don't miss it!

  • On Saturday, Oct. 21, hundreds gathered at Camp North End on Statesville Avenue for Charlotte's first black alternative music festival. We captured some of the bands in action on stage, but mostly we surveyed the grounds as fans, families, vendors and more lounged around the sprawling, colorful Camp North End site. It was a great day of music, food, fun, and sweet, autumn sunshine. (Photos by Mark Kemp)
