The Coalition of Immokalee Workers is embarking on a North Carolina Publix Truth Tour – join farmworkers and Charlotte allies for a spirited protest at Publix! The CIW’s Fair Food Program, through which farmworkers are experiencing increased wages, freedom from sexual harassment and discrimination has expanded to North Carolina for the first time just this summer. At the same time, Publix Supermarkets is aggressively expanding into North Carolina. For six years, they have refused to even meet with farmworkers to discuss taking responsibility for abuse of farmworkers’ rights in their supply chain while major competitors have done so.
