From Ill, groundbreaking rap icon to Hype-d up co-star, Nasir "Nas" Jones has always kept "a finger on the forward-looking pulse of hip-hop." Now, he's a the forefront again by announcing the demise of the genre that brought him fame. Nas' Hip Hop is Dead is here to show his mastership of the craft and to prove once and for all how much the current hip hop scene has to learn. The Jigga-Nas beef has been grilled, resulting in the smoking "Black Republican" where the former mentor and protegé trade hooks. The 26-city "One Man, One Mic, One Night" Tour, stopping at Neighborhood Theatre tonight, is for persons 21 and up. Tickets are $38. Show starts at 9 p.m. For details, call 704-358-9298 or visit
