Wednesday, August 1

Hello, Loafers. It's time for our grandest ish of the year. That's right. You guessed it! Best of Charlotte 2007: The Hollywood Edition. We've taken you on a family-friendly tour of the Queen City and into CL's Immigration Nation. This time around it's all about the luxe and glamour. So, pick up a copy, dress up in your ritziest number, or make that Wal-Mart knock-off shine just like the real thing. What's important is you showcase that star attitude. Be the hottest, baddest bitch you can be (that's goes for you too, fellas ) because from here on out, the party's on and poppin' and we don't mind sharing the spotlight. Available Wednesday. Free, of course. At a newsstand near you.

  • On Saturday, Oct. 21, hundreds gathered at Camp North End on Statesville Avenue for Charlotte's first black alternative music festival. We captured some of the bands in action on stage, but mostly we surveyed the grounds as fans, families, vendors and more lounged around the sprawling, colorful Camp North End site. It was a great day of music, food, fun, and sweet, autumn sunshine. (Photos by Mark Kemp)
