The Chapel Hill-based slam team visits UNC Charlotte for a series of student workshops that culminate in a free public performance. Often addressing social injustices, the group was inspired for its most recent material after traveling to Egypt and Tunisia. While there, members of the group conducted interviews to learn about the events that led up to the Arab Spring uprisings. The result of the experience is a multi-media production titled, “Poetic Portraits of a Revolution.” Don’t miss seeing them spit with students who they’ve spent the week training. (Anita Overcash)
