Silver Star Community, Inc. and Charlotte Museum of History present a dinner and presentation by Stephanie Deutsch and Marshall Washington-Cabiness Abuwi. Ms. Deutsch, whose husband is a great-grandson of Julius Rosenwald, has written a book titled You Need a Schoolhouse: Booker T. Washington, Julius Rosenwald, and the Building of Schools for the Segregated South. Mr. Abuwi will discuss the legacy of his great-grandfather, Dr. Booker T. Washington. A cocktail reception from 6:00 – 7:00 will be followed by dinner and the speakers. This program will benefit the restoration of the Siloam School.
