Siloam Rosenwald School Fundraiser

When: Sat., March 25 2017
Phone: 704-568-1774
Price: Tickets are $25 per person.
Silver Star Community, Inc. and Charlotte Museum of History present a dinner and presentation by Stephanie Deutsch. Ms. Deutsch, whose husband is a great-grandson of Julius Rosenwald, will discuss the inspiring story of the partnership between Booker T. Washington and Julius Rosenwald to provide schools for the African American community in the South in the early twentieth century. This program will benefit the restoration of the Siloam Rosenwald School, relocate and install it at the Charlotte Museum of History, creation of an exhibition on Charlotte and Mecklenburg County’s African American history, and provide an endowment to maintain the building.
