Simply the Best (Of Charlotte)

Scenes from CL's Best of Charlotte 2007 party

Simply the Best (of Charlotte): WCNC weather man Larry Sprinkle (named Best Local Meteorologist) catches some rays.

Unpaid to Party: Tonya Jameson of the Charlotte Observer (voted Best Local Columnist) makes a grand entrance.

Get a Leg Up: Q92.7 radio personality Ifé Moore poses on the red carpet.

A Knight to Remember: Sir Karl Strohminger, a real knight in shining armor, solemnly searches for damsels in distress.

Flippin’ Flour: Sierra, the beautiful co-host for the Best Of Charlotte party, takes time out to scoop what appears to be a controlled substance -- but it's probably just a bag of Splenda.

  • On Saturday, Oct. 21, hundreds gathered at Camp North End on Statesville Avenue for Charlotte's first black alternative music festival. We captured some of the bands in action on stage, but mostly we surveyed the grounds as fans, families, vendors and more lounged around the sprawling, colorful Camp North End site. It was a great day of music, food, fun, and sweet, autumn sunshine. (Photos by Mark Kemp)
