Re: “Live review: Scott Weiland, The Fillmore (8/18/2013)

My Fiancé and I travelled down from Gettysburg PA to see the show. We thought Scott was spot on in his performance. Probably the 8th time we've seen him in various forms (STP/Velvet Revolver/Solo.) So he took some artistic license and held some notes longer then he did in the studio 20+ years ago. That's the beauty of LIVE performances. If you feel his performance was lack luster at times, I just want to double check to make sure we both saw the same show. Scott is held as one of the greatest rock vocalist/songwriters of all time. Yes he has battled his demons for the better part of 20 years. But he has also written some of the greatest rock songs ever during those same years. I'm not condoning heroine use, but if it helped him write Sex Type Thing.......... Well I'd say it kinda worked out for all of us, didn't it?
I didn't notice anyone leaving or giving the band the thumbs down. The Tom Petty comment was just a joke and meant to mean nothing more. Him walking the wrong way off the stage after the encore? C'mon man that was a cheap shot. So he rambles on from time to time about obscure things. He's the same musical genius that gave us "I am - smelling like a rose that somebody gave me on my birthday deathbed." Nuff said.
