SPECIAL EVENT: Get to Know the Show: Get the Led Out

North Carolina Blumenthal Performing Arts Center's latest in its Get to Know the Show series is a rampage of rock 'n' roll. In anticipation of Belk Theater's upcoming performance on Feb. 21 by the Philadelphia-based Led Zeppelin cover band, Get the Led Out, the workshop covers the lengthy history of rock mongers Led Zeppelin and is led by Dr. John Harding, professor of history of rock at Central Piedmont Community College. The event is also slated to consist of happy hour and a reception, an audio visual presentation, and a trivia contest on the legendary rock act. Prizes, including a pair of tickets to the Get the Led Out show, are up for grabs. Vouchers for discounted tickets will also be available to those participating. 21 and up.   • On Saturday, Oct. 21, hundreds gathered at Camp North End on Statesville Avenue for Charlotte's first black alternative music festival. We captured some of the bands in action on stage, but mostly we surveyed the grounds as fans, families, vendors and more lounged around the sprawling, colorful Camp North End site.
