SPECIAL EVENT: Oh so patriotic 

MONDAY, SEPT. 1

Grab an American flag and some chairs to sit your ass on, as you head to downtown Charlotte to watch the 10th Annual Charlotte Labor Day Parade. Strolling the streets, floats will carry everything from political candidates to beauty queens and promote local community organizations. Free. 11 a.m. Begins at the Hal Marshal Center and continues through Tryon St., ending at Tryon St. and Third St.
