The Montreal-based performers, Les 7 Doights De Le Main (The 7 Fingers) twist and turn, flipping their way into Charlotte for Traces. But what is that? Take one look at the group's past videos of performances and you'll see it isn't just acrobatics but touches of theater and music mixed together for these performances. The show is an abstract version of bodily movements and soulful art forms. Smooth, flowing, free and impulsive moves will impress and leave you mesmerized. $29.50-$44.50. Through Nov. 16. Times vary. McGlohon Theatre, 345 N. College St. 704-372-1000.

  • On Saturday, Oct. 21, hundreds gathered at Camp North End on Statesville Avenue for Charlotte's first black alternative music festival. We captured some of the bands in action on stage, but mostly we surveyed the grounds as fans, families, vendors and more lounged around the sprawling, colorful Camp North End site. It was a great day of music, food, fun, and sweet, autumn sunshine. (Photos by Mark Kemp)
