Dec. 26, 2002-Jan. 1, 2003

For All Signs
Mercury will turn retrograde on January 2. Faithful readers of this column know this happens roughly three times per year and lasts three to four weeks. During the retrograde periods, communications often go awry and routine schedules are tossed in the air like a deck of cards. If we were in touch with the true message of this phenomenon, we would arrange for a long siesta, a period of rest and reflection. Since we are not, we experience delays and complications in such things as meetings, travel, contracts, and paperwork.

In late June-early July you started a project related to home, property or family matters. Now you arrive at a turning point in which you must decide whether to pour more resources into it. Chances are, you will feel it worth the effort. Your energy level is high.

There are very few fresh aspects in your sign this week. Given the high energy and multiple activities of last week, maybe you need the quiet now. Use your best good sense and take care of yourself on New Year's Eve, or you will pay for it the next day.

Take special care of yourself this week and don't press your body beyond its limits. Though you are usually very social, somehow this year you may not be in the right frame of mind for parties and lots of people. Don't worry, next year's holidays will be better.

You probably need to fall back and indulge in some solitary activities for this last week of the year. There may be an interference in the quiet while you attend to someone who is emotionally hurt or in need of your help. It is hard for sympathetic Moon Children to turn down anyone with a sad story.

You are feeling happy and have quite a lot of energy to spare. This is a good time to tackle a heavy household project or to make a fresh start on a new physical health regimen. You are interested in improving yourself and your appearance for the future.

Do the best you can to step aside from commitments for the few days after Christmas. It appears your energy level is on a temporary low and there is no need to push it. Social activities may just feel like another obligation right now. You've had a high pressure year. It's OK to rest.

You are normally highly social and really look forward to the holidays. This week, however, circumstances may not seem to work out for parties or traveling. You may be working on projects instead, or just feel short on energy. Get extra sleep.

Your energy level is high and so is your attitude. You may have a sense of freedom that is unusually strong. Enjoy your good time, but be aware you are prone to take extraordinary risks with this energy. A travel plan, first conceived in the summer, may be part of the picture now.

You are in a generous, gregarious frame of mind. Your energy level is great. You may be tempted to spend more money than you have this week or make other impulsive moves that you might regret. This is a good period to work on projects that will improve your life.

Capricorn It is possible you are so pressured by work and other responsibilities, that you won't have the opportunity to take much of a holiday this year. Your frame of mind is serious and businesslike right now. Make yourself a promise to take a break as soon as the necessary tasks are completed, so you won't feel resentful later.

Your feelings of concern and responsibility for children (whether toddler or adult) may be interfering with the festivities of the holiday week. Unfortunately, you are also pressured by business needs to prepare an important project which is due soon. Do what you must, but make a plan for some R&R as soon as possible.

Now is an excellent time to plow energy into a program designed to improve your health and overall state of well being. You very likely have visitors from a distance or may be traveling yourself this week. Even so, you have a need to use your large muscles and to stay active.
