Stargazer

For the week of August 8, 2004

For All Signs Mercury, the planet ruling communications, common business practice, and travel, turns retrograde on August 9 and will remain so until September 2. During this period it is best to avoid finalizing major decisions or signing contractual agreements. Seemingly good ideas may be discovered later to have flaws or missing information. Projects that are begun during the cycle often cannot be completed until several months later, at the next retrograde.

Aries You are subject to an episode of irritability or unexpected anger that occurs in response to an apparently trivial event. This particular development, though small, may bring to the surface an old issue that you ignored at a previous time.

Taurus Be careful with wallets, keys, and money this week. You are likely to be daydreaming and may misplace something important. It is possible you are subject to theft. You may have a project involving a repair on personal property. Drive and handle tools with care.

Gemini Your attitude is upbeat and enthusiastic. You are likely delighted with an event or plan concerning family, or matters of property and home. Enjoy, but don't bet money on it yet, because your ruling planet is Mercury, and it is turning retrograde now (see lead paragraph).

Cancer Venus enters your sign this week and will be traveling "with you" through September 5. Her presence gives you an air of poise and beauty, and people will simply like how you look. You will have a greater need and desire to be with others, or they with you.

Leo You are in a physical low cycle right now, so it is important to give attention to what your body requests. Allergies may be a temporary plague. Partners and others seem to evaporate from the scene, so depend only upon yourself.

Virgo Travel and/or educational plans may change at the last minute. Be prepared with plan "B," particularly if you are counting on public transportation. You are subject to compulsion during this period, particularly concerning family or home matters.

Libra Your mind wants to be on the subject of things of beauty and creativity this week. If possible, spend some time with your favorite creative art, color, or design. Love and romance is high on your list of priorities. You need to concentrate on accurate communications.

Scorpio This is a very good time to put energy into home improvements. It is also a time in which work may be demanding, but if you handle yourself well, your status and respect will move up a notch. Don't give in to irritation with others unless you genuinely need to set a boundary for the future.

Sagittarius It is imperative that you be aware of your motives at this time. Ambition simply for its own sake will meet with resistance. Yet if you are presenting a concept or an idea that is for the good of all, you might "win" in a big way.

Capricorn During the late 80s you began to blend your own mix of the orthodox with the unconventional. You are acting as a groundbreaker, with one foot in each world. You must help others recognize that it can be done well, and without destruction of that which is good.

Aquarius Creating integration between the untried and the traditional is on the front burner. You may do this on one or more levels: political, economic, social, or personal. Relationships with others could be confusing or demoralizing right now.

Pisces You have been working toward blending the unconventional with the traditional since the end of the 80s. This is one of those periods in which it is a greater challenge than usual, but you have had quite a lot of experience. You may need to prove to yourself or others that it really works.
