Stargazer

For the week of Mar. 31 Apr. 6, 2005

Aries - The Ram Near the end of January you conceived a new idea in one of the following areas: Loans, legal matters, education, publishing, church life, the internet, or travel. At this point you may be just starting to materialize the structure. You are a silver tongued devil this week. Everyone is listening. Use the power wisely.

For All Signs The date chosen for Easter Sunday each year has its moorings in cosmic motion. We have Easter on the first Sunday following the first full Moon which occurs after the spring equinox (roughly Mar. 21). It is more practical to ritualize the Resurrection on a Sunday, but Easter was originally intended to occur on the Libra full moon and this year the full moon was at 4pm EST on Friday the 25th.

Taurus You are giving much thought to your history and other subjects of depth right now. This is a wonderful time to seek a counselor or talk with a trusted friend. People around you are open and generous. It will help you realize how much you are loved.

Gemini You are in a particularly social monthly cycle. This is a time in which you are talking with others about what you believe and who you are. A trip has just been completed and you may be preparing for another one soon. News concerning legal matters, education and publishing is good.

Cancer Whatever your chronological age, you may be feeling old right now. Saturn transits have a way of causing us to be more aware of our deficiencies and weaknesses. It is important that you understand the pessimistic outlook is ephemeral.

Leo If you aren’t on vacation or traveling, you surely wish you were! This is a time of optimism and cheer. You are in a particularly generous frame of mind. You are feeling good about your relationship(s) and may be plotting a romantic venture.

Virgo Debts owed to you are paid during this period. Possibly this includes income tax. You may still be pondering decisions concerning investments for the future. This is a good time to review the portfolio, plan your estate, or handle other big personal business.

Libra Librans tend to struggle with overindulgence in everything good. If you let yourself get off track this week, you may go way beyond the boundaries before you return from the bounty. Meanwhile, love, social life and romance should be a great joy.

Scorpio You may be involved in learning a new skill or perhaps serving as mentor to another. Mechanical objects may break down this week. It will be a nuisance but you can work out the problem. The original cause of the difficulty occurred in late January.

Sagittarius Minor car trouble may interfere with your locomotion. Watch your tone of voice this week as your tongue may be a little sharp. Love, play and social life have center stage. If money is a background issue, leave the credit cards at home.

Capricorn You are caught between a rock and a hard place. The financial picture is temporarily gloomy and you can’t seem to make anything happen right now. This is a physical low cycle and you may experience bone, joint or tooth trouble. Everything changes. Next it will be your turn.

Aquarius Good news brightens the beginning of the week. Learning something new gives you a fresh burst of energy. Overall you may be dealing with a long term health issue. It is a symptom that has been developing for a long time, but now you must give it attention.

Pisces Love and romance may have to sit on the back burner due to circumstances beyond your control. Those with children may be tending health difficulties or other challenges. Good news and optimism surround your investments and income. The arts are enticing now.

  • On Saturday, Oct. 21, hundreds gathered at Camp North End on Statesville Avenue for Charlotte's first black alternative music festival. We captured some of the bands in action on stage, but mostly we surveyed the grounds as fans, families, vendors and more lounged around the sprawling, colorful Camp North End site. It was a great day of music, food, fun, and sweet, autumn sunshine. (Photos by Mark Kemp)
