Stark Reality

Tuesday, Sept. 18

Iron Man comes to Charlotte. No, not the Tony Stark character from the Marvel Universe. A real-life, breathing man of steel. OK, the comic book references have run amok. In that case, let's just say be prepared for the presence of a "living legend." Baseball Hall of Famer Cal Ripken Jr. will be in town to sign his new book, Get In The Game. The former Baltimore Oriole who broke Lou Gehrig's record for consecutive games played has "8 Elements of Perserverance" he'd like to share. This is a free, ticketed event. No memorabilia will be signed and no photography is permitted. 4-6:30 p.m. Borders, Stonecrest, 7836 Rea Road. 704-752-3782.
