Admit it, you hosers: What precious little you know about Canada, you learned from Strange Brew. This 1983 comedy, which eventually became a cult fave (those endless showings on pay cable probably helped with that), stars former Second City Television cast members Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas as Bob and Doug McKenzie, a pair of Canadian morons who live for beer with the same determination that Cheech and Chong searched for pot in their on-screen escapades. The McKenzie brothers land jobs at a beer factory, only to discover that the nefarious brewmaster (Max von Sydow!) has made plans to take over the world. Sounds good, eh? Strange Brew is being presented by The Light Factory and Theatre 650 as part of the monthly Cult Movie Mondays series. For more information, visit www.lightfactory.org/film/cult-movie-mondays.
