Three continents of wines, food and music

JUNE 19 -- Wine Tasting. Spend an evening with gourmet wines of Clos Du Val Napa Valley. The Californian winery, founded in 1972 is renowned for their French Bordeaux-style wines that dazzled the French during a wine tasting contest in 1976. Still in action, this winery went on to purchase vineyards in Australia and France. $20. 7 p.m. 202 North Main Fine Wines, 202 N. Main St. (Mooresville) 704- 663-5445.

JUNE 21 -- Razz Berry Wine Tasting. Indulge yourself with chocolate-covered strawberries that will be paired with more than five different fine wines. $5. 2 p.m.-5 p.m. Razz Berry Cafe (inside RealEyes Bookstore), 3306-A N. Davidson St. 704-377-8989. www.razz-berry.com.

JUNE 24 -- Lift Your Spirits. This summer event will benefit the Mental Health Association of Central Carolinas, Inc. Good eats will be provided from Charlotte restaurants, including Brixx Wood Fired Pizza, Mac's Speed Shop, The Dinner A'Fare, Bear Rock Café and Picasso's Sports Café. It will also feature an open bar with unlimited beverages and musical vibes from Liquid Pleasure. Cocktail attire is optional. Prior to the event on June 18 will be MHA's 75th Anniversary "Free Ice Cream" Celebration from 11:30 a.m.- 1:30 p.m. 101 Independence Center, at Trade and Tryon in the square.   • On Saturday, Oct. 21, hundreds gathered at Camp North End on Statesville Avenue for Charlotte's first black alternative music festival. We captured some of the bands in action on stage, but mostly we surveyed the grounds as fans, families, vendors and more lounged around the sprawling, colorful Camp North End site. It was a great day of music, food, fun, and sweet, autumn sunshine. (Photos by Mark Kemp)
