Re: “Calling all music geeks: Free books

My daddy played 6 and 12 string guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle and harmonica, and he could sing. My mom played piano and organ, and she could sing. My daddy's brothers used to come to the house on the weekends, with their guitars and they would all have country and bluegrass jam sessions. When I was 17 I married a lead guitarist in a band that played pop to get paid and fusion originals to get satisfaction. That marriage didn't last and I lived with another lead guitarist, who left this plane for another one. I own a working turntable and 2500 albums...yes, the black vinyl kind, and my collection includes rock, pop, blues, country, classical, jazz, gospel, and the first Beatles album. I own a Yahoo group dedicated to promoting local bands and events, and a Facebook group dedicated to Classic Rock and Blues music, and within that group promote local rock and blues talent. The thrill of my life was meeting Paul and Linda McCartney during the 1993 Wings New World Tour that was televised live from Blockbuster Pavilion in Charlotte, where I was working in catering at the time. Yep...I'm a music geek.
