This article would have been interesting if it actually revealed long term problems that could potentially be caused by things we currently consider "good" for us. Since it doesn't, I think it's safe to assume the authors were merely aiming for humor. They failed. "Cracked.com" has factually correct (for the most part, anyway) lists that actually evoke laughter; I recommend heading over there if this didn't do anything for you.
Sean Nguyen, you might want to pick up that book on grammar as well; it's "had to have failed", not "had to of failed".
