There are no big-headed little green men in this production, but there is impact — and not from a space shuttle. Playwright Annie Baker’s The Aliens introduces audiences to three “real” characters, two of which are homeless and occupying a space next to a coffeehouse dumpster. The third is a young worker employed at the local Joe spot. Together, the three strike up a conversation that you might not expect. The two back-alley gentlemen share details from their lives and offer advice to the budding young brewer. Far out, huh? Paperhouse Theatre stages the three-person play — directed by Nicia Carla and starring actors Matt Cosper, Grant Watkins and Michael Julliard — at Blumenthal’s Duke Energy Theater. (Anita Overcash)
