SELECTIVE MEMORY: A 28-year-old woman said she was swindled out of $216 when a man she thought knew her spouse approached her and said, "If you give me the money, I will make sure your husband gets it." The woman gave the man the money, but when she asked her husband about it, he said he never received any money from the man. When the woman asked the man about the $216, he said, "I don't know who you are, and I have never seen you before."
FATAL ATTRACTION: A 34-year-old man said he received more than 35 calls since June from a woman he told never to contact him again. He said the woman has appeared at his home four times that he knows of and has been seen at his home on several other occasions by his friends and neighbors. When the woman finally encountered the man face-to-face, she threatened to do harm to herself.
WATCH YOUR BACK: A 20-year-old woman said she received five harassing calls on her cell phone from one of her acquaintances. She said her acquaintance threatened her during one of the phone calls by saying, "The next time I see you, I'm gonna beat your ass." She believes another one of her acquaintances was also involved.
CYBER THREATS: A 16-year-old female said she received several threatening e-mails from a male acquaintance who promised to do bodily harm to her. She said she believes he would follow through with his threats.
THE CHILDREN ARE OUR FUTURE: A 38-year-old middle school teacher said one of his students became angry when asked to follow directions in class. He said the student became aggressive and threatened to harm him.
BAD CREDIT IS WORSE THAN NO CREDIT: A 39-year-old man said someone stole his personal information and applied for a credit card. He said he discovered the fraud when he received a letter from the credit card company stating that his application was declined.
