Bizarre crimes from Charlotte police reports

BA-HUMBUG: A 52-year-old man said someone came to his home on Rainbow Drive and damaged Christmas decorations on display in his yard. He said Christmas lights were pulled off his trees and broken, two seven-foot Christmas trees were knocked down and the heads were pulled off two of Santa's reindeers.

THE DEVIL STEALS PRADA: A woman said she accidentally left her Prada purse at the playground of her apartment complex, but when she came back to retrieve it, it was gone. She said two weeks later all the contents of her purse were mailed back to her, with the exception of the purse.

'TIS THE SEASON OF GIVING: A 22-year-old woman said she let her brother stay with her for a couple of days, and during his stay she noticed that one of her designer dresses was missing. She confronted her brother about the missing dress, and he said he gave it to his girlfriend as a gift.

ENERGY FRAUD: A man said he received a phone call from a customer service representative at Duke Power notifying him that someone had used his name and social security number to obtain utilities services from them. The suspect used the information to get services from Duke since 1962.

HUNGRY THIEF: An employee of Smart Kid Child Care and Education Center on Lambeth Drive said someone entered the business by breaking a window. She said the person went through desk and cabinet drawers but didn't steal anything other than a bowl of cereal and a Lean Cuisine frozen meal.

AN EXPENSIVE LOVERS' SPAT: A 24-year-old woman said her ex-boyfriend came to her apartment complex located on Haverford Place Road and started an argument with her. She said when he was leaving he intentionally rammed her car door with his vehicle and drove off.

STALKER ISSUES: A 46-year-old woman put a restraining order out against her ex-boyfriend, hoping it would keep him away from her, but he continued to pursue her. She said he came to her church, waited for her to leave and then followed her home.
