Bizarre crimes from CHarlotte police files

WHAT WOULD JESUS DO?: A 35-year-old man said he was in his office, located inside a church on Albemarle Road, when one of his female acquaintances busted in and started an altercation with him. He said she poured soda on his office equipment, causing damage to his computer, printer and fax machine. He said she also scratched him in the face during the argument. When police arrived on the scene, the woman was gone. The man said he will press charges against her.

TAX SCAM: A 39-year-old woman discovered that someone obtained her name, social security number and date of birth against her knowledge. She said the person used the information to file her as a dependent on their state and federal taxes. She said she didn't give anyone permission to use her personal information.

FAIR WARNING: A 38-year-old man said he received a call at his place of employment from a man he was having a dispute with. He said the man told him he was coming to his job, and he better lock the door because an ass-whipping was coming his way.

ACADEMIC THIEF: A 26-year-old UNCC student said someone broke into her room and stole several items. Among the items stolen were four textbooks, including the Molecular Genetics of Bacteria and Fundamental of Biology.

DOUBLE TROUBLE: An employee at Target observed a young male stealing video games and jewelry. He alerted the store's security guard, who apprehended the man and recovered the stolen merchandise. Once police arrived on the scene, they searched the suspect and discovered several grams of marijuana on him.

CYBER TRASH-TALKING: A 60-year-old CMS teacher learned from some of his students that several other students exchanged derogatory and slanderous comments about him on the Internet. He wants the students to be punished for their actions and police are investigating it as a cyber-stalking case.
