The Blotter

Take A Walk: A man walked up to the drive-thru window of a local fast food business, tried to place an order, and was refused. The cashier told the man that he had to place his order inside and that the drive-thru was for customers in cars. The man became very angry and picked up a rock and threw it at the drive-thru window, smashing it. The man then walked off the property, apparently still angry.

Dog Days: A woman's friend was supposed to be keeping her dog until she could move to Charlotte, and then returning the dog to the woman when the move was complete. The woman tried to contact the friend to reclaim the dog. The friend, however, has refused to return the dog and has avoided all contact with the woman.

Oh, Dry Up: A verbal argument turned physical when a woman was struck in the face with a towel.

I Said Cut That Crap Off: The police were called out after someone entered a woman's home and damaged her stereo by dropping it on the living room floor.

Emblematic of Our Times: Someone tried to take the emblems off two cars belonging to the same man. The clumsy would-be thief broke the Toyota emblem and left it in the driveway. He or she did, however, make off with the Honda emblem -- confirming the statistics that Hondas are a favorite target of car thieves.

Someone Saw The Light: A woman was surprised to find that seven of the solar lights mounted in the ground by her walkway had been stolen.

Mobile Phone: While a woman was away, someone pried a hasp off her rear door and entered her apartment. The hasp prier ransacked the bedroom but decided to take only the telephone.

They Are A Health Hazard: A man became so upset with the woman he was arguing with that he pushed her into a wall and then struck her in the face with a cell phone.

No More Tell-tale Gray: A man and a woman were tussling when the man suddenly grabbed a container of bleach and poured the whole thing on the woman's clothing.

She's Ba-ack: A woman entered a grocery store from which she had been previously banned, went to the back of the store, and concealed some steaks in her backpack. A store employee tried to stop her from leaving the store, but she got away after punching him in the upper arm.

The Day The Music Died: A man came to another man's house and asked permission to borrow the homeowner's guitar for the evening. The generous man allowed the first man to take his guitar and his amplifier with the understanding that they would be returned the next day. Guess what? The guy didn't bring either of them back.

The Brake's On The Left: After gaining entry to a car by breaking out the side window, a would-be car thief hotwired the car and tried to get away. The thief wasn't able to control the car, though, and drove it into a wooden fence, where it remained stuck.

The Old Switcheroo: A man entered a local shoe store and tried on a pair of shoes, put his old shoes in the shoebox and then placed the box back on the shelf. The man then walked out of the store wearing the new shoes without paying for them. That lasted about, oh, one minute, after which he was detained and the police were called.

No More Junk Mail: A local man called police after someone backed over his mailbox and mailbox post. The mailbox couldn't be salvaged.
