The CD's done, so what's next?

On Sept. 4, at Double Door at Lake Norman, we'll hold a CD release party for the next Creative Loafing Presents Jeff Hahne's Homebrew: Summer Stash 2008 CD. (Details are all over the paper, and in the Turn On, Tune In column in this section.)

While we hope you can make it and would love to see the place packed to show support for the great local music that's being created in the Queen City -- and being performed on stage that night -- I'd also like to let you know that it doesn't stop here.

While preparations are still being finalized for the release party, my ears are already listening for tracks for the next edition. If you're recording music from now through ... well, whenever the next one comes out -- send it my way and let me know I should keep it in mind for the next 'Brew.

  • On Saturday, Oct. 21, hundreds gathered at Camp North End on Statesville Avenue for Charlotte's first black alternative music festival. We captured some of the bands in action on stage, but mostly we surveyed the grounds as fans, families, vendors and more lounged around the sprawling, colorful Camp North End site. It was a great day of music, food, fun, and sweet, autumn sunshine. (Photos by Mark Kemp)
