THEATER: AmerWrecka

Thursday, Feb. 12

Starting today, The Actor's Lab presents the play AmerWrecka by J.D. Lewis at The Charlotte Art League. The play itself centers around the historic killings of four Kent State University students, shot by a national guard during a peace rally in 1970. With that said, things get funky as the production (featuring Cher Ferreyre from the television show Veronica Mars, Kevin Murphy Brown, the artistic director of the Echo Arts Project and acoustic-folk Asheville-musician Kellin Watson) follows the ghosts of those dead students, who have some unfinished business and a passion for stirring up U.S. politics. Adult content. Through Feb. 28. $15-$20. Feb. 12-14, 8 p.m.; Feb. 19-21, 8 p.m.; Feb. 26-28, 8 p.m. The Charlotte Art League, 1517 Camden Road. 704-376-2787. www.theactorslab.com.
