THEATER: Bat Boy: The Musical at Actor's Theatre of Charlotte

Wednesday, Jan. 14

It's been five years since Actor's Theatre of Charlotte bit into what would be a tasty performance of Bat Boy: The Musical, which follows the story by Keythe Farley and Brian Flemming with music and lyrics by Laurence O'Keefe. But, the past just doesn't always stay the past, and especially when out of the cave comes another performance about a half-bat/half-boy (played by local actor Jon Parker Douglas) found in West Virginia, adopted and forced to learn the keys to human interaction (if that's even possible.) Through Jan. 24. $25. Wednesday-Saturday performances at 8 p.m.; Sunday performances at 2:30 p.m. Actor's Theatre of Charlotte, 650 E. Stonewall St. 704-342-2251. www.actorstheatrecharlotte.org.
