THEATER: CAST's Killer Joe

Thursday, Feb. 26

It's strongly arguable that Carolina Actors Studio Theatre's latest production Killer Joe belongs on Lifetime television. I mean really, how many movies on the channel share a similar story line as this? There's a family, in this case, the Smith family consisting of a mother, father, son and daughter. The son owes his drug dealer $6,000, so he plans to have his mother killed for her insurance money. The only thing that sets this play aside from those Lifetime plots is that it contains a somewhat humorous twist. Once the hired freelance killer enters the family's home, he won't leave. Through March 4. $18-$22. 8 p.m. Carolina Actors Studio Theatre, 1118 Clement Ave. 704-455-8542.
