THEATER: Don't wanna grow up

Sunday, Oct. 5

It's time to travel to a place where dreams are born; that's right -- Neverland. And you can visit as Children's Theatre of Charlotte presents the musical version of James M. Barrie's beloved story Peter Pan. The pixie dust did the trick on this tale, that's for sure. Audience members of all ages can get hooked through Oct. 26. Ages 6 and up. $18-$24. Times vary. McColl Family Theatre, 300 E. 7th St. 704-973-2828. www.ctcharlotte.org.

  • On Saturday, Oct. 21, hundreds gathered at Camp North End on Statesville Avenue for Charlotte's first black alternative music festival. We captured some of the bands in action on stage, but mostly we surveyed the grounds as fans, families, vendors and more lounged around the sprawling, colorful Camp North End site. It was a great day of music, food, fun, and sweet, autumn sunshine. (Photos by Mark Kemp)
